In 2024, the Mississippi John Hurt Museum was destroyed by fire—just one day after being named a national landmark. Nearly everything was lost.

Now, through a special exhibit and film screening, A Man Called Hurt: The Life and Music of Mississippi John Hurt, the Jimmie Rodgers Festival and The MAX are coming together to share his story and support the Mississippi John Hurt Foundation’s efforts to rebuild and educate.
